About Ms. Hollembeak

My name is Amy Hollembeak and I am honored to be your child's teacher this year. This is my twenty-third year of teaching in Minneapolis and my seventh year at Lake Harriet.  Since I have been at Lake Harriet I have taught at both campuses. I have taught second and third grade before moving to kindergarten. This year is my second year teaching kindergarten. I have spent most of my career teaching kindergarten through third grade at Montessori schools within the district.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to grow in the year ahead.

I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to contact me is through email at amy.hollembeak@mpls.k12.mn.us

I am looking forward to an exciting year with you and your child.

I believe that every child has the ability to learn, but it takes a good teacher to be able to bring this ability out. This is a role I have loved taking on in my many years of teaching. I believe it is the purpose of education to provide children with the skills necessary to live a successful life. In my opinion, the school's goal should begin with providing students the necessary knowledge and experiences to help them contribute to our society. It is very important to me to help my students succeed anywhere they go.
