Mr. Murphy, Room 105

Week of 5/13/2019

Hi Families from 105,

Happy Mothers’ Day.

Spelling- New list this week. Test Friday 5/17. List attached.

Benchmark - Continuing Unit 6 “What compels us to survive?”

Magazine Project - Although the class is finished with the Magazine Project, many students still need revisions to their existing articles. Block 2 teachers and I ask that you take some time to look at all three of your child’s articles (on Google Drive) and make necessary edits, so they have the best possible final product. Resources on my website.

Capitol Field Trip - Tuesday May 21, we are going to tour the State Capitol. PDF permission slips on my website.

If you would like to chaperone, please email me. We could still use more chaperones!

End of Year Picnic -

“Fifth Grade Picnic - Sign Up Genius Link:

We need parents to sign up to chaperone and lead activity stations at our end of year picnic on Fri. June 7, from 10 am to 2 pm. We've rented Beard's Plaisance (46th and Upton) for 4 hours and we will walk down for our picnic after attendance. The schedule will be activity stations, lunch, recess, tug of war, ice cream truck visit, clean up, and then we'll walk back to school.

Please send $8 to 5th grade advisory teachers to cover the cost of pizza and a visit by an ice cream truck after lunch. As usual, there will be a gluten-free pizza ordered, and non-dairy frozen treat options available to the students. Please have students let us know if they need GF pizza so we can order enough.

The students are welcome to bring their own lunch on 6/7. We ask that ALL student bring a water bottle labeled w/their NAME, as we're going "green" and are NOT buying water in plastic bottles.

If you have any questions, please let us know or contact one of the 5th grade room parents.

Many thanks to our room parents for organizing this fun day for our students. Thank you for your support all year long.”
