Each year, hundreds of parents and community volunteers donate their time and talents to Lake Harriet Community School. Parent involvement is a key component that drives LHCS excellence. We encourage and need, all families to get involved in their child’s education through volunteering.
If you are a parent, guardian, grandparent, or community member and would like to volunteer at Lake Harriet, you must submit an online Volunteer Form. Please note the online software doesn’t encrypt the data. The Volunteer Form is kept on file for six years - from kindergarten through fifth grade for your first child, so if you have previously filled it out, you do not need to fill it out again unless you have moved or changed names.

If you think you will ever help out in a way where you would be unsupervised by a teacher or alone with children such as chaperoning field trips, tutoring, etc. Click here to complete the Volunteer Background Check Request Form. Please note that once you start the process to complete a background check you will receive an email with the subject "Action Request" within 1-3 business days which will contain a link to complete your background check. You must respond to the required steps within 48 hours. Once completed, background checks are valid for 2 years.
