About

About Lake Harriet Community School

Located in the heart of the Fulton and Linden Hills neighborhoods of SW Minneapolis, we strive towards excellence in education by guiding students to love learning and empowering them to reach their full potential.

Mission and Vision

Mission: Minneapolis Public Schools exists to provide a high quality, anti-racist, culturally responsive education for every Minneapolis student.

Vision: All students--regardless of their background, zip code, and personal needs-- will receive an anti-racist, holistic education that builds essential knowledge to prepare students for future success.

Two Campuses. One Community.

LHCS provides kindergarten through 5th grade on two campuses in SW Minneapolis. The Lower Campus, K-2, offers an intimate setting ideally suited for young learners. The Upper Campus offers a challenging curriculum for grades 3-5 in an inclusive environment. We offer strong academic programs, social emotional learning, outdoor learning, along with engaging extracurricular activities. LHCS is an ideal neighborhood school.

See for Yourself.

LHCS provides guided tours of both campuses so you can see classes in action and meet fellow parents. Tours will begin after Virtual MPS Enrollment Season Kickoff in November, 2022. This year's tour information will be posted on this website's home page. Or, call us for more information. We look forward to meeting you and your children.
