Sign-up forms went home last week for Junior Great Books and the deadline for submission is January 14. Junior Great Books will start in late January or early February.

Junior Great Books is open to second through fifth grade students. Students read age appropriate literature and then discuss the material using a ‘shared inquiry’ approach that encourages students to search for meaning in stories and to consider and express different points of view. The discussions help students increase their comprehension, interpretive thinking, and oral and written language skills.

Second graders meet on Friday mornings at the lower campus from 9 to 9:30. Upper campus students (third through fifth grades), will meet on Tuesday or Thursday AMs, 9 to 9:30, a change from years past. If you are interested in signing your 2nd -5th grade student up, getting more information, or volunteering to lead the discussions in your student’s class please contact Joanne Kaufman at jmktjm@hotmail.com or 612-920-3370.  You can also use an on online signup form
