Hello Lake Harriet Families,

My name is Tammy Mahony and this is my third year teaching Kindergarten at Lake Harriet Lower Campus. I have been with Minneapolis Public Schools for 24 years teaching Kindergarten for most of it and for 7 years before arriving to Lake Harriet, I worked as the Professional Development Facilitator for the district.

I went to the College of St. Benedict for my undergraduate work and the University of Phoenix for my Master's Degree.  After completion of my Master's degree, I became an online professor for graduate and undergratuate students with the University of Phoenix.

Currently I reside in Lakeville with my two sons, Connor and Kieran. We are a very active athletic famly where all three of us play ice hockey. We enjoy spending a lot of time together and love to travel.

Teaching Kindergarten is very rewarding because it is a new experience for each student.  Each student is so unique and brings something special to the classroom.  I believe that the most important part of their experience is to build a positive relationship with them and the academics, social skills, etc... will follow.

This year is going to be Magical Year for Everyone!  As Walt Disney said, "If you can Dream it, you can do it!"
