Read-A-Thon Under Way, Ends Feb. 5
Monday, February 01, 2010 9:50 PM

This year’s LHCS Read-A-Thon is under way. Through this annual event, kids get excited about reading and raise money for LHCS in the process. Encourage your children to read for fun, log reading minutes for LHCS, and win cool prizes:

  • The top reader in each grade will receive a $10 gift certificate from The Wild Rumpus.
  • Other top readers will also be eligible for cool prizes from Creative Kidstuff, and gift certificates from Turtle Bread and other local businesses.
  • The class with the most reading minutes logged will win a pizza party.
  • Every student who collects $75 or more will receive a cool “Read Around the World” T-shirt.

This Friday, Feb. 5, staff and students will stop everything and read during their classroom Read In for the last day of the Read-a-Thon.

All pledge forms and money raised through the Read-a-Thon is due to your child’s teacher Tuesday, Feb. 16. Help encourage a lifelong love of reading by spending at least 20 minutes a day reading with your child.
