Notes From Our Nurse

Should I send my child to school today?

A child should not come to school (and will be sent home from school) if they have or have had:

  • a fever of 100 degrees F orally or 99 degrees F axillary (under the armpit) or higher in the past 24 hours
  • vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours
  • an undiagnosed skin rash
  • untreated live head lice

*If you child has an influenza-like-illness, (cough or sore throat with temperature of 100 or higher), please keep him/her home until his/her fever is normal for 24 hours WITHOUT the benefit of fever reducing medications.

**If your child’s cough cannot be suppressed with 12 hour cough suppressant, and it is disruptive to the classroom, please keep him/her home.
