About Ms. Hollembeak

Welcome to 3rd Grade in Room 123!

Hello and welcome to our classroom!

I would like to take an opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Amy Hollembeak and I am honored to be your child's teacher this year.  This is my eighteenth year of teaching in Minneapolis, and this third year at Lake Harriet.  My first year at Lake Harriet , I had the opportunity to be the second grade reduction teacher at the Lower Campus.  I then moved to the Upper Campus to teach thrid grade last year.  In previous years I have had experience teaching kindergarten through third grade in the district.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential.  We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to grow in the year ahead.

I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  The best way to contact me is through email at amyh@mpls.k12.mn.us

I am looking forward to an exciting year with you and your child.

Amy

MY PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT:

I believe that every child has the ability to learn, but it takes a good teacher  to be able to bring this ability out.  This is a role I have loved taking on in my many years of teaching.  I believe it is the purpose of education to provide children with the skills necessary to live a successful life.  In my opinion the school's goal should begin with providing with students the necessary knowledge and experiences to help contribute to our society.  It is very important to me to help my students succeed any where they go.

MY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
