Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments

The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) are statewide accountability tests in reading, mathematics, and science that are used to meet federal and state legislative requirements for students in grades 3 - 8. The tests are administered every year in the spring to measure student performance relative to the Minnesota Academic Standards. A schedule of testing dates will be shared with our community in March 2019.  If you would like your student to not participate in state testing, please return the Parent Refusal Form before testing begins.

MCA Student Reports

Students in grades 3 – 8 took the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) last spring.  The MCA Student Report contains a score for math, reading, and science (5th/8th grade only) and a guide for parents on how to interpret and use results.  This year, student reports were delivered to schools and we plan on handing out the results to families during our Fall Conferences (October).  If you would like to receive the student report before conferences, you may pick up the MCA Student Report in the main office (Upper Campus).   Please email Sarah Jorgenson with any questions at sarah.jorgenson@mpls.k12.mn.us

Parents/guardians that would like students to opt out of MCA testing, please turn in the form below to your testing coordinator by the start of MCA testing.
