This notice is to remind families about Parent/Teacher Conferences on Friday, February 18th.  This is a student release day.  The midyear February conferences are for families of students whose teachers have concerns and/or families who feel they need a midyear conference to discuss specific issues.  Also, all parents of students not making annual yearly progress will be contacted to schedule a conference.  These are not “drop-in” sessions.  Conferences must be requested and have a scheduled time.  No child care will be available.  Conference request notices will be sent home by backpack Tuesday, February 1st.

Monday, February 14 is National African American Parent Involvement Day.  This day is designated to emphasize the importance of African American parents and families being involved in their child’s education.  Of course, participation is emphasized for all parents and families.  It is also an effort to build a strong connection between students, families and schools.

While we will celebrate National African American Parent Involvement Day on Monday, February 14th at the Lower Campus, we invite all parents to have breakfast with your children and attend our music program on this day.  We know that family and community involvement is key to the educational success of our students.  We extend an invitation to parents to join us.  Fliers with more information will be sent home with students.  Click here for a schedule of events from the calendar section of the LHCS website.
