About Lake Harriet Community School

Located in the heart of the Fulton and Linden Hills neighborhoods of SW Minneapolis, we strive towards excellence in education by guiding students to love learning and empowering them to reach their full potential.

LHCS provides kindergarten through 8th grade on two campuses in SW Minneapolis. The Lower Campus, K-2, offers an intimate setting ideally suited for young learners. The Upper Campus offers a challenging curriculum for grades 3-8 in an inclusive environment. Our strong academic program, coupled with fun and engaging extracurricular activities, make LHCS an ideal neighborhood school.

LHCS is well known for our strong parent involvement and active PTA. Throughout the year, we encourage parents and families to get engaged in school activities and events that enrich their child’s education and their community. At LHCS, we teach our children to celebrate and respect our diverse population by becoming knowledgeable, involved members of a global community.

LHCS provides guided tours of both campuses so you can see classes in action and meet fellow parents. Winter tour information will be posted on this website's home page. Or, call us for more information. We look forward to meeting you and your children.

Lawn signs should be on display from late August through October 5, and then again in May through mid-June (keeps the look fresh if they’re only out at school start and end). Use your window clings year-round.
