Help Create a More Welcoming Environment at LHCS

We are quite an eclectic group of parents – some have children with physical or learning disabilities, adopted children, bi-racial families, children with lesbian and gay parents, and parents/people who want to see our school community honor and celebrate the diversity among us.

The Family All Matters Book Project is one way to create this welcoming and respectful atmosphere among our students.  This project uses a collection of children’s books that celebrate many different families, ethnic backgrounds and family structures.  It is intended to teach children about how families are different and the same, and uses parent volunteers for parts of the curriculum.

If you would like to be part of this exciting and important work, please join us at the Parent Reader Training session on Wed., Jan. 10, 6:30-8:30 in the upper campus media center. Questions or to RSVP: contact Mary Jordan at 925-1715 or
