I’m writing to briefly introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal serving Lake Harriet Community School. It’s exciting to rejoin an elementary/middle school after four vibrant and challenging years at Washburn High School.

My family lives in Saint Paul and we have two children in high school. I’m passionate about music – playing, listening and studying – and the outdoors – canoeing and camping. I grew up in the Milwaukee area and came to the U of M in the mid 70s after gaining an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.

After studying elementary and special education at the university, I landed my first teaching job at Madison School in Minneapolis. I earned a Master’s degree and began my administrative work in Minneapolis in 1993 and since that time I have worked at several middle schools, a high school and a special education school. My broad background allows me to bring many skills to Lake Harriet and I look forward to getting to know and working with you all.
