The Families All Matter Book Project is starting up at Lake Harriet! Information about this program was sent home with students several weeks ago. To recap, Families All Matter is a program for grades 1 - 5 which uses children’s literature to explore different families and family structures, ethnic backgrounds, religious backgrounds, and socio-economic differences.  The intent is to teach respect for all families. Teachers and parent volunteers serve as readers in the classrooms. The next Parent Reader Training session is Tuesday March 4 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the UC media center.  Please consider coming and learning more about the project!  This is an important volunteer opportunity which is so enriching to our students (and is flexible and easy, with a short time commitment!)
