Submit an article to the PTA Communications Team

Complete the form below to submit an article to the PTA Communications Committee. The committee will review the article and include it in the Connection and/or the website, as appropriate (or as requested).

 

The Connection is published every Tuesday. Deadline for online submissions is 4:00pm the Thursday prior.

Submissions may be edited for length, clarity and relevance to the LHCS community. This is a school-focused publication and personal or for-profit ads cannot be included.  Community news that is of interest to students may be included only if space permits with school news taking priority.  If there is no space for the community news, it will be added to the LHCS news on the school site.  Please indicate the nature of the news (school or community) in the form below.

When writing an article keep the following in mind:

  • Consider your audience. Make sure your article includes information that all LHCS parents will understand. Don't assume a parent knows an acronym or is familiar with a certain project or event - please include details.
  •  Student Names.   To protect the privacy of our students, please use only first names with last initials
  • Don't overlook the basics. If this pertains to an event make sure to include the who, what, when and where. If it doesn't pertain to the whole school, please note (e.g., Bowling Day for grades 3-8 only).
  • Be concise. The audience is looking for important information quickly.  Delete unnecessary or contradictory information. Eliminate anything that is just taking up space.
  • Review for accuracy. Check for grammar and spelling errors. Read it aloud and make sure it flows smoothly.
