All Day Kindergarten
Monday, March 23, 2009 10:20 PM

Lake Harriet Community School has been allocated referendum money to have one section of all day kindergarten for the 2009-10 school year. We have had this in the past, although not for a number of years, and the requests far exceeded the available space. Families, whose kindergarten age child is accepted to Lake Harriet for 2009-10 will receive a card from us. This card will ask for their choices to be ranked; full day, morning or afternoon session of half-day. The cards are returned to us and we hold a lottery for the full day requests.

Families that qualify for free or reduced school lunch, by school district policy, have preference for the full day spots prior to the lottery. If your child does not have a space in the full day session, we would then move to your second choice. We hope to be able to grant each family’s first or second choice of kindergarten session. Please wait until you receive your kindergarten session request information from us. This information will come to you as soon as we receive the list of students placed at Lake Harriet from the Student Placement Center.

Thank you.
